Field Trip Expectations

2025-2026 GLMS Grade Level Field Trip Behavior Guidelines

Our Gull Lake Middle School end-of-year field trips are quickly approaching. These field trips are viewed as a privilege, and it is our goal for all students to attend these trips to enhance their learning experience.

However, GLMS students will lose the opportunity to participate in their end-of-year grade-level field trip if a student receives a major referral between the start of the 3rd Trimester (March 9th) through the date that the field trip takes place.

Not every behavior referral is considered a major referral.

Examples of major behavior referrals include, but are not limited to:

  • Use or possession of alcohol/drugs/tobacco/vape/weapon

  • Threats of violence/fighting (or instigating the same)

  • Property destruction/theft

  • Inappropriate location/skipping school/class

  • Harassment/Abusive Language/Sexual Conduct

  • Bullying

  • Repeated (typically 3 or more) minor referrals, such as:

    • Disruptions, Defiance, and/or Disrespect

    • Inappropriate Language

    • Targeted Mean Behavior

    • Physical Contact/Aggression

    • Academic Dishonesty

    • Technology Violations/Property Misuse

    • Lying

(Referrals for tardies do not typically reach a major level, but absenteeism or truancy would)

Please contact the Dean of Students, Jacob Oaster, for more information or concerns.
