I like helping students learn, grow, and reflect. Middle School is a time for discovery, relationship development, and to begin learning how to navigate the many challenges of our ever-changing world, communities, and relationships. My role is to act as the liaison between staff and students, help resolve conflicts, and to offer our students avenues to improve on themselves and their choices while providing grace through life’s many learning moments as an adolescent.

I have been a public school educator for nearly 20 years. My first 18 years in public education I served as the Middle School and High School choir director at Hopkins Public Schools in Allegan County. I recently moved into an educational leadership career path due to a deeper desire to expand my skill set and move towards a more specialized leadership role within public school education.

I hold two degrees from Western Michigan University: A Masters in Educational Leadership (K-12th Principal), and a Bachelors in Music Education (vocal emphasis).

I am a problem solver, a systems thinker, and carry a wide variety of skills and experiences from my many years teaching, directing, and leading.  I strive to show all students a focused and warm personal attention, strong sense of integrity and follow-thru, as well as clear educational and behavioral expectations in my role as the Dean of Students within Gull Lake Community Schools. The Gull Lake Community has great students, great support, and great schools. I am proud to be part of a district that leads in the county and state.
