Intervention Specialist
Mrs. Stephanie Dunham
In my role as an Intervention Specialist, I enjoy seeing students succeed socially, emotionally, behaviorally and academically. I support students one on one, in small groups, in the classroom and in Math Lab. I also coordinate all of the 504 Plans for Blue Team students. It is important to me that every student feels heard, validated and comfortable at school. I have been in similar student support roles in two other school districts for 10 years before joining the Blue Team at Gull Lake Middle School.
I’m excited for this opportunity. I Graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and a Master’s degree in Youth and Community Development. Prior to
working in schools, I volunteered full time in school settings for 7 years. I look forward
to supporting students at Gull lake Middle School.
Mrs. Kara Wyman, Intervention Specialist
As an Intervention Specialist I most enjoy empowering middle school students to reach their full potential; academically, socially & behaviorally. I help support students in classrooms, individually and in small groups. I also coordinate all of the white team students 504’s. I am proud to be a part of coordinating our after school academic support program (SOAR). I am deeply invested in making a positive school culture and experience for all students.
I am a Gull Lake grad and love that I get to be a part of this amazing community as an adult. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University’s college of education in Family Studies. I have worked at Gull Lake Middle School since 2018 and have been an Intervention Specialist at GLMS since 2022. Prior to working at GLMS I worked as an employment specialist at a non profit organization assisting those with disabilities return/find employment. Additionally, I have worked in school based outreach programs throughout Kalamazoo.
