The Gull Lake Center for the Fine Arts has been made possible by the generosity of voters approving the 2018 construction bond. After opening in April of 2022 we have seen students throughout the district showcase their many artistic talents. The GLCFA includes a full art gallery space alongside an 880 seat auditorium built with industry standard technologies. This space is a physical manifestation of the district's commitment to arts education and performance, providing a comprehensive pre-k through 12 experience in the arts.

HS Band
Gull Lake High School Band students are a vital and visible part of our community. Throughout the school year, students perform and entertain the crowds at home varsity football and basketball games, pep assemblies, local parades and concerts. They compete against other Michigan bands in MCBA contests, and this year achieved superior ratings at both the fall MSBOA Marching Festival and spring Band and Orchestra Festival. Many students perform outside of school at events such as District and State Solo & Ensemble Festivals, and with community groups such as the Kalamazoo Music School Jazz & Creative Institute, the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra, and the WMU Spring Conference All-Star Band.
We invite you to attend a concert - cheer us on at a competition - get involved with the GLBPA - and sit back and enjoy the music.
HS Choir
The Gull Lake High School Choir is a performance based class for students of all vocal abilities. The Choir performs throughout the school year in our community, including holiday performances during Richland Wassailing and for the Rotary Club, concerts for friends and family, and the Southwest Michigan Vocal Festival at Western Michigan University.
We are excited about the Gull Lake Center for the Fine Arts and can't wait to fill this beautiful new performance space with song!
HS Performing Arts Company (PAC)
What is PAC?
PAC is the Performing Arts Company at Gull Lake High School. The students in PAC work on every aspect of Gull Lake High School’s theatrical productions, such as costumes, makeup, props, sets, lights, sound, media, directing, and acting, making PAC’s performances truly student focused.
PAC's yearly schedule this coming year will consist of two full productions (one in the fall and one in the spring) and a one-act production and 24-hour theater festival in the winter.
PAC members coordinate social events, such as movie nights, trips to local shows, and holiday parties. They also take a trip to Stratford, Ontario in Canada each fall.

The Great Gatsby (Spring 2021)
The Gull Lake High School Performing Arts Company (PAC) ended their 2020-2021 season on a high note with a production of The Great Gatsby adapted for the stage by Simon Levy. The play, based on the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is centered around the character of Nick Carraway, who rents a small bungalow in West Egg (outside of New York City) for a summer in the 1920s. While there, he encounters his cousin, Daisy, and her husband, Tom Buchanan. Through them he meets Jordan Baker, a professional golfer known for cheating in a tournament. He also happens to be the neighbor to Jay Gatsby, a past love of his cousin Daisy’s. After getting entangled in the lives of these characters, Nick comes to see their deeply flawed behaviors and his once optimistic view of their world and the American Dream is shattered.

MS Band
The Gull Lake Middle School Band Program is where your students' instrumental music journey begins! While practicing to be proficient on an instrument, students will also learn about composers, music theory, music history, instrumental music technique, as well as gain important life skills that require working in a team atmosphere. GLMS Bands are an integral part of our community where we strive to cultivate student's skills and passions in music.
Our 6th Grade Band is the beginning band and the foundation to our band program. During this year, an amazing amount of growth occurs while learning the fundamentals of playing their instruments, which sets our band program up for success in future years.
During the 7th and 8th Grade years, band students develop more advanced skills which have consistently earned the bands superior ratings at MSBOA District 11 Band Festival. In 8th Grade, students also have the opportunity to join the GLMS Jazz Band which frequently has requests to perform within our community. Our students regularly participate in other performance opportunities outside of school such as MSBOA District 11 and WMU Honors Bands, MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Festival, Kalamazoo Trumpet Workshop, the BBBC Middle School Brass Camp, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and Camp Wakeshma.
Our GLMS Band Students continue to carry the torch that was lit so many years ago from the "Tradition of Excellence" that was instilled in the GL Bands "With Pride." We look forward to seeing you at one of our performances to enjoy the music and support our students and band program!

The Gull Lake Virtual Partnership (GLVP) provides a variety of learning opportunities for students in grades K-12.
GLVP's fine arts offerings include:
* music courses with applications for individual and group instruction
* art courses with applications of painting, life drawing, clay and more
* dance courses with applications in a variety of dance styles, from tap to ballet and more

Visual Arts
Gull Lake Community Schools provides visual arts opportunities from K-12. Students have the ability to create 2D, 3D and digital art through the wide variety of classes available.
