Dear Parents and Students,

Gull Lake Gateway Academy students will have the opportunity to participate in the College Board Suite of Assessments in October. All 11th grade students will automatically be administered the PSAT/NMSQT and they will be assigned to a testing room without any further action from parents/guardians.

Recent legislation signed by Governor Whitmer requires districts to make the PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, and SAT available for students in Fall 2021. 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students may participate but they are not required to take Fall 2021 assessments. Students will take these assessments in the Spring (April 2022).

Please refer to the quick reference test description below to learn more about each state assessment.

Seniors will be offered the opportunity to take the SAT (college entrance exam in Language Arts and Mathematics). This is a “re-take” from the SAT they participated in during the Spring of 2021.

Sophomores will be offered the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT), which helps students prepare for the SAT in their junior year.  (Juniors will automatically take this assessment)

Freshman will be offered the opportunity to take the PSAT 9 as a Preliminary SAT that builds up to the PSAT/NMSQT in their Sophomore and/or Junior year.

In order to ensure the best testing environment for students in the Fall, please contact Lynnette Walker (lwalker@gulllakecs.org) by September 10 in order to test.
