He began his teaching career in the Gull Lake Community School system in 1997 as a 3rd grade teacher at Kellogg Elementary. After 8 enjoyable years with 3rd graders he finally passed the 3rd grade test and was allowed to move up (some of his previous students say it took him too long and that they did it in just one year)! He did so amazingly well on that test that he skipped 4th grade altogether! This unprecedented achievement was rewarded with his being assigned to Thomas M. Ryan Intermediate where he taught 5th grade for 5 years. In 2010, Mr. Badiner undertook a new assignment, teaching 4th grade. (Maybe he didn't do as well as he thought on that 3rd grade test, huh?) Currently he strives to be the “Meanest Teacher in the World”. Just ask him, he will tell you it is true! He is currently spreading his use of technology within the classroom by helping other teachers in Gull Lake with his latest adventure as an Instructional Technology Coach.
Aside from his daily routine of painstakingly tormenting 4th graders, Mr. Badiner enjoys spending time with his 10 year old son Lucas, his 5 year old son Jack, and his wife who is also a teacher (although she teaches high school in a rival district...something to do with Bulldogs). He enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, backpacking, downhill skiing & snowboarding, geocaching, and cruising the curvy back-roads on his motorcycle. You may even see him at his favorite spots around town like Fort Custer or Plainwell Ice Cream.
