____ knows books by their covers.

____ holds books and turns pages the “right” way.

____ brings books to me to read.

____ names things in books.

____ likes to sing or say silly rhymes.

____ talks about the people, places and things in books.

____ knows that the letters and words are what is being read.

____ listens to stories.

____ asks me to write his name or simples words.

____ scribbles and then reads me the “words.”

____ tries to write the letters in her name.

____ gets to go lots of places like the grocery store, library, parks.
